Who We are

The Problem

Many different microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites exist in the environment. Some of them are pathogenic and cause infectious diseases in both humans and animals. Infectious diseases are one of the major reasons for death especially in the low- and middle-income regions of the world.

Point-Of-Need Diagnostic Tests

Point-of-need testing devices allow the identification of pathogens near the patient with a fast turn-around time and the potential to immediately change in the health management and treatment decisions.

These devices are often portable and easy to use, making them ideal for use in remote or underserved areas where access to traditional lab testing may be limited.

WHY

We tackle meaningful challenges to detect very rapidly and accurately bacteria, virus and parasites responsible of severe diseases.

WHAT

We advanced the ECL luminescence-based detection, increasing its sensitivity, portability, versatility and developing bio-sensors which are fast and cheap.

HOW

We developed a very sensitive and portable platform, based on a signal amplification strategy, to identify and quantify pathogens.
